Barbie Doll Invented

You may ask yourself who invented the Barbie Doll and what is all this craze about? Well this craze started back in 1959 and has been going strong ever since. During a trip to Europe Ruth Handler purchased a doll called "Bild Lilli". This doll was based on a German comic strip and was a gag gift for adults. She brought the doll back to the U.S. and started working on redesigning the doll and worked with a designer who could design doll clothes. The invention of the Barbie Doll was made by Ruth Handler and she named Barbie after her daughter Barbara. On March 9th, 1959 the invention of the Barbie Doll was presented at the Toy Fair in New York City.

Value of Collectible Barbie Doll

If you have collectible Barbie Dolls and you are wondering " what's their values?" you must first look at their condition. For instance a collectible doll that has never been removed from it's box (NRFB) is sometimes of more value than a Barbie that has. There several different conditions your Barbie Doll will possess which will help you determine how much value your collectible Barbies are worth. When you look at the Barbie Doll to find its collectible value look at the following scenarios:

Is it NFIB- New found in box? If it is, then it will be in mint condition in the box with all the tags, clothing, accessories and in "store new" condition. This greatly increases their collectible value.

Crazy for Barbie

I have recently gotten into starting a Barbie collection. Yes I am a bit older but I have a 4 year old. Barbie to me is the epitome of the girly girl. I have never been that girly girl but now that I have a daughter she has shared with me the love of PINK! I also have been doing so much research on collecting Barbies that I decide to start a website to share what I have found out. (www.crazyforbarbie.com) It has been so much fun and has been such a delight to see how Barbie started. There has been some controversy around Barbie but now that we have the Bratz trying to steal the show I think we know what a true lady should look like or resemble- I don't mean body type or the make up but the "put together" look. Barbie always look like she is off for her next adventure and that is what we men and women should always strive for...the next adventure! ENJOY LIFE! whether you are driving your pink CAR, going to the beach with your friends, or just hanging around in your Barbie house you should have fun while you are doing that.
